President Brenda Chia

AAAIM

As President of AAAIM, Ms. Chia oversees the strategic direction, annual program and fundraising for the organization. Ms. Chia was a founding Board member of AAAIM whose goals are to promote capital access, networking and professional development for Asian American fund managers. AAAIM also supports students who are interested in finance as a career.

Prior to AAAIM, Ms Chia worked with technology start-ups in the Boston area. She developed the initial strategy and market approach to commercialize a proprietary technology for reconfigurable computing developed at MIT. The company was funded by a several top venture capital funds such as Kleiner Perkins and NEA, and was sold in 2000.

Ms Chia worked with The Boston Consulting Group in Boston and Singapore, developing and executing business, marketing and operational strategies for emerging and established U.S. and international companies. She has traveled extensively through Asia and the U.S while on assignment.

She holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Computer Science with First Class Honors from the National University of Singapore. She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Indonesia.
