Board Member Hanson Li

Hanson Li is currently Executive Director at The Hina Group, one of the largest merchant banks focusing on China with 50+ professionals on the ground in China. With offices in China, US, and Singapore, Hina has been variously recognized as the Best Boutique M&A Bank, Best Private Equity Firm, and Best Cross-border Investment Bank. Hanson works in both the investment banking division as well as the private equity fund. For IBD, he assists global corporations with their merger and acquisition in China. He also works with leading Chinese companies in raising capital and in exploring M&A opportunities outside of China. For the Hina Private Equity Fund, Hanson evaluates Chinese domestic buy-out and investment opportunities, with a thesis in leveraging the Hina IBD platform and extensive China network.

Prior to joining The Hina Group, Hanson gained significant operational experience at Capital One Financial and EqualFooting. At Capital One, a Fortune 500 financial services company, he held management roles at AmericaOne, the company's telecom subsidiary. At EqualFooting, a B2B/software start-up funded by NEA, FBR, Yahoo!, Nextel, and Textron, he held dual Vice President roles managing both operations and strategy.

Outside of The Hina Group and AAAIM, Hanson is involved with many organizations focused on Asia including Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA: the largest Chinese executive organization), Asia American MultiTech Association (AAMA: one of the oldest and largest Asian American professional organizations).

Hanson earned an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He was named Siebel Scholar in recognition as one of the top 5 outstanding graduates in his class and he also graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar. He also earned a BA and MA from Stanford University. Hanson is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.
