OPIC call for proposals
The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)—the U.S. Government’s development finance institution—has issued a call for proposals to catalyze new levels of support for impact investment. Cambridge Associates has been engaged by OPIC to assist in the development and implementation of this call.
The call will consider a wide variety of strategies that are intended to have positive social and/or environmental impacts while generating sustainable financial returns, including such sectors as water, health care, sanitation and waste management, education, housing, basic infrastructure, access to finance, renewable resources, and sustainable agriculture. Proposals for financial intermediaries that will invest in microfinance institutions or small and medium-sized enterprises will also be considered. OPIC will consider a range of investment structures, including private equity funds, private equity fund-of-funds, debt facilities, and hybrid vehicles.
