Baird Private Equity ("BPE") operates various investment fund platforms that make (i) buyout and growth equity investments in U.S., European and Asian middle-market companies and (ii) venture capital investments in the U.S. Collectively, BPE has raised and managed in excess of $2.6 billion from a diverse group of investors, including institutional investors (e.g., Fund of Funds, Insurance Companies, Family Offices, Banks, and Pension Funds), Baird Associates and Baird high net worth and institutional clients. The existing and targeted investor base includes investors in the US, Europe and Asia. BPE manages these relationships directly and indirectly through the assistance of outside consultants. Further, BPE uses Investran to communicate with investors and InterAction to communicate internally. BPE also has access to internal Baird marketing, communications and public relations resources.

BPE, because of continued growth and an expanding investor base, is establishing the position of Investor Relations Manager to work with the Investor Relations and Marketing teams to drive investor relations activities. Successful candidates will be highly motivated individuals that possess strong communications and sales skills, preferably in the private equity or investing industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Director of Investor Relations and individual Fund teams to coordinate Baird Private Equity and Baird Principal Group fundraising and marketing programs.
  • Work with Director of Investor Relations and individual Fund teams on US sales and marketing initiatives, including involvement and coordination of activities with (i) existing and targeted limited partners and their consultants, (ii) placement agents and (iii) the internal Baird distribution system (Baird sales force). Coordination and monitoring of fundraising activities also includes utilization of BPE's CRM system.
  • Work with Director of Investor Relations on the development and maintenance of marketing materials. Responsibilities will include coordination of marketing materials and branding activities utilizing and leveraging both internal and external resources.
  • Direct and indirect involvement in events planning, such as the Annual Investor Meeting.
  • Preparation of meeting materials for both internal and external meetings.

Qualifications Desired:
  • Education:
    • Undergraduate degree
    • MBA degree preferred
  • Knowledge/Experience:
    • Extensive communications and sales experience, preferably in the private equity or financial services industry.
    • Experience in dealing with and general knowledge of the private equity limited partner community and their consultants.
    • Experience with investor relations and contact relationship management systems.
    • Experience in management and coordination of internal resources and external resources and vendor relationships.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management
    • Strong presentation skills and comfort with presenting in front of large audiences
    • Strong organizational skills and project management experience
    • Ability to tolerate peak workloads, multiple assignments and produce results
    • Willingness to travel regularly
    • Series 7 and 66 licenses are required, but can be obtained post-hiring
