Department/Position Scope
The Investment Office maintains a team culture with a fairly flat organizational structure. The ability to work cooperatively with the experienced investment professionals across the organization is highly valued. The investment analyst will work within the Public and Hedge Funds Group, as well as within a small Investment department of approximately 13 people. The position reports directly to the senior investment officer and works collaboratively with members of the Investment unit, Finance and other departments, as appropriate. This is a three-year full-time term appointment.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the screening and monitoring of the public investment portfolio.
  • Perform specialized economic, sector and asset class research.
  • Potential asset allocation analytical support.
  • Supportive quantitative, as well as qualitative analysis for both existing and potential hedge fund and long only investments.
  • Develop and maintain quarterly exposure reports for the Foundation's hedge fund managers
  • Maintain the Pertrac database and run various analytic reports to support new manager searches, performance evaluation and attribution analysis
  • Assist in preparing investment memos and analytic materials for the investment sub-committee.
  • Support senior investment professionals with ad hoc research projects.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in an investment, preferably asset management firm.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical skills with a firm understanding of statistical performance analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of capital markets and economic concepts.
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a small group.
  • Intellectual curiosity encouraged.
  • Proficiency in the set-up and manipulation of financial data using computer database, spreadsheets (such as Excel), graphics (PowerPoint) and word processing (MS Word).
  • Ability to travel as required.
